Since BT has merged with Yahoo, I can now no longer access my emails ( I
get the error messaage: -ERR Bad authentication), I can still send
emails and can access my mail using a web browser on the Yahoo site. But
I prefer to use Eudora, I have had the ccountr with BT for over two
years. I have tried accessing from other computers, still with Eudora
but with out success. I think the probelm is with BT. I have emailed
them twice, but have had no response.
Is anyone getting the same problem?
thanks
Ian

Not exactly the same, but I have a client using BT Internet and having
problems receiving email that is redirected from his domain name email
address.
I know the emails are being sent on to BTI without delay, but he
sometimes doesn't see them for several hours.

Ian,
Yes - same problem with me as with you.
The eudora web page which you goto when you get this ERR message
suggests that its more to do with the ISP's settings on there server
being incorrectly set up, but like you BT have not responded back to me.
I believe that they have there own BT newsgroup - so I will post on
there if not found already.
Keep me posted on any workrounds you come across.
for now,
Paul

Ian,
I found the answer to the Eudora problem:-
Searching the Eudora website I came across:
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/2434hq.html
and the second setting in this article
<x-eudora-setting:12909=login>
seems to have done the trick for me (at least for the moment!
You enter the <x-eudora ......) onto a blank email message and then
double click over it. A window should open then click on the option
blued out (dont choose the revert to default settings).
Quit Eudora and restart.
You should find log in will then start the next time you enter your
password. BT mail server can be a bit slow to start off with, and they
can still stop midway thru but on the whole if you dont have any other
application or web browser running all should be ok.
Let me know.
Paul
