On the toolbar is the little popup where you can search the web/Eudora
etc. I *never* want to use this to search the web - can I remove that
option somehow or at least make "Search Eudora" the default?

Thx - tim

There's a checkbox in the Toolbar pane of the Settings window.

Now where did I hide that website...

All that does is remove the search field completely.

Why use the toolbar- and waste the screen space?

Cmd-Opt-F gets you instantly into searching Eudora, without anything
about searching the web..

Come on Peter! The amount of wasted screen space is tiny (although it
would have been nice if it had been moveable etc etc)

Yeah I know. I prefer to use the mouse.

Don't you have options of horizontal or vertical? Although the vertical
option is a bit nasty, apparently being stuck at top left.

For me, another reason to go on using the keyboard...

The toolbar is marginally better than not. The fact you can't move it is
bad, like you can't move the basic frame opened by Elements 6.

Eudora 7 is so much nicer to use, even tho it's on XP. But I have high
hopes for Odysseus.

For various reasons I'm still using 6.1.1. Laziness has something to do
with it, I'm sure, but also the fact that I'm using it in Light mode,
which I like and am organised for, with multiple personalities via
multiple settings files, and it's the same, superb spanner-like Eudora
it always was. Plus I'm genuinely not sure if I'd gain anything by
upgrading to the last version.

What you can do, if you want a button that by default searches Eudora,
is command-click between buttons to add a button for searching Eudora.
When prompted to select a menu item, go to Special | Find | Search

Well, gee, why didn't I think of that?

Thanks - that's the answer, of course.
