I have a problem that I might be able to figure out from data in
Eudora's log file.  Unfortunately, I stopped logging about a year ago
and I can't find out how to turn it on again.  Does anyone know?

    Eudora 6.2.4.  OS X (10.4.11).

Settings->Logging -- if you're not seeing it, you need to enable
Esoteric Settings.

I'm not seeing it.  In my manual, there's only one occurrence of
"esoteric" and one of a "More Setting" button, both in the section on
synchronizing a Palm Pilot address book and the Eudora address book.
I'm clearly missing something.

I think you may be missing Esoteric Settings. It's included in the
Eudora distribution, but not enabled by default.

Find the Eudora app package and do a 'Get Info' (Cmd-I). In the plugins
section, find and check 'Esoteric Settings'. Then restart Eudora. The
Logging item should now appear in Settings.

Still struggling.  I did the above and have used Eudora several
times since.  The log file has not been changed.  I initially said to
log everything.  I've since backed off of a few of the settings,
specifically "All bytes transferred" and "Filter actions".  That had to
effect.

Logging problem solved.  The Eudora Log file came over from OS 9
and it was given read-only protection for everybody.  I deleted it (and
Old Log) and I'm now getting logging.

Strange that Eudora gave no indication of a problem with logging,
much less what the problem was.
