I'm more interested in where I can find useful information about
Odysseus as a potential replacement for Eudora.  According to their web
site, Odysseus 1.0 becomes available May 12 (seems like an awfully short
beta period).  But I don't want to give up on my trusty Eudora and pay
for replacement software without a great deal more information on it.
The screen shots there don't tell much of a story.  Where else can I
find meaningful info?

I note from their web site that until May 11 one can pre-register and
pay half-price.

I am inclined to gamble on that, but I still have a week to decide.

Yeah, me too.  I think it's probably worth the gamble.

That May 11 th. date was extended a bit, now Aug.11th.
Now they say:
> Pre-Registration
> $19.95 - Beginning April 15th, 2008 this option is available to individuals
> who would like to receive a license to Odysseus at a discounted price. Anyone
> who pre-registers between April 15th and August 11th will receive a license

However it looks like rel 2 requires full repurchase.

Has anyone tried the Aug. 5th rel 1 Beta 2?
It's still use with extreme care, can't be relied on.

I can't possibly imagine what kind of data would be more informative
than actually having your hands on the beta.

Thanks for the update.  How do you like Odysseus so far?  Are you able
to comment on features of Eudora that you've noticed not yet available
in Odysseus?

Personally I'd like to see the option of displaying the toolbar
*vertically* instead of horizontally like in the screen snaps posted.

Is that possible?

Keep you in the dark
You know they all pretend
Keep you in the dark
And so it all began

What they've given us to beta test so far is very stripped of features,
so it is not yet comparable to Eudora.  The public beta is, I believe,
supposed to have more features.

Any problem has a cause, which, except for death,
is bound to be either temporary or curable.

Just switching programs around
is one approach to the situation --
then if TB or Odysseus encounters the same problem another day,
one can always switch back again to Eudora :)
