I've recently moved to OS 10.5.2.

Eudora worked fine for a couple of days, but between this afternoon and
this evening all the old messages in my Inbox became marked as unread
(other mailboxes remained ok).

I checked the Console messages and found the following lines (both of
them were repeated several times)

25/03/2008 15:21:43 Eudora[353] Warning: accessing obsolete X509Anchors.

25/03/2008 12:29:43 Eudora[342] NSDocumentController Info.plist warning:
The values of CFBundleTypeRole entries must be 'Editor', 'Viewer',
'None', or 'Shell'.

Anyone know what's going on?

I am currently *NOT* using old-style toc files. I believe using them was
mentioned as a possible solution to some problems.

I have never used old-style TOC files, and I've also never had my In or
other mailbox suddenly mysteriously become unread.  But every time I
fire up Eudora, I find that same message about the obsolete X509Anchors
appearing in my console log.

The other message, concerning NSDocumentController, has occurred in the
past, but doesn't occur every time I run Eudora.  The last time it
occurred was actually from Quicken, back on Feb 22, and from Eudora it
last appears on Feb 19.

All this, BTW, is in system.log.
