A new beta was supposed to have been posted today. Anyone know if that
happened? Futzing with my account parameters on their forum led to my
acct being made inactive, so I can no longer log in to check grrrrr !!

I didn't need an account to browse there and see that eventually they
bumbed in to some troubles and therefore delayed the release. Not a
giant surprise if you ask me :-)

The mac beta has been released (it was released on Friday), but only to
500 or so beta testers. They are promising the windows beta for Monday,
I believe (again, only to beta testers).

If you don't have an account (and didn't have it before 14th Feb or so),
you won't see the beta test forum where all this is taking place. The
beta was posted Friday and lots of us have been testing it.
It's buggy and quirky but you can set up accounts and send/receive mail.
Personally I'd call it an alpha as much functionality is not yet
implemented, but one can use it for testing.

I've also been playing with the beta, Tim. It has a long way to go, but
I'm *so* relieved to see anything at all. <G> I do like the "look" of it
-- nice and clean.

Oh, yes, yes, yes - same here! Are there any new screen snaps available
any where?

Does it allow toolbarless and pane-less usage? (I got worried seeing the
two or three screenshots, prominently displaying toolbars and panes...)

This version is very limited. They have been working on getting the
basics reliable, ie, reading and sending mail. The cosmetic and options
sides will no doubt get their turn in the limelight.
