Then your settings file was corrupted. Might have been caused by the
forced quit though -- not necessarily (nor likely) by that message.
If you say this cleared the problem, then it doesn't sound like that
message was the actual problem. What happened to that message? Is it
listed in your mailbox? What happens when you open it?

Might your mailbox be corrupt?
Might your file system be corrupt?

I started having the same problem right after I installed Leopard in
November. It also happens when I want to fule (save as) certain but
not all posts. Turning off the eudora sounds has helped other problems
but not this one and eudora is definately more unstable with Leopard
but I need it's filters and mailbixes too much to give it up. I ust
hope eventually somene will fix it.
