After a severe crash, Eudora cannot find the correct setting file. I
have to go into the Documents folder and click on the most recent settings.
How do I fix it, please?

It should be fixed now , there is always a backup settings file made
when you stop using Eudora.

In my Eudora folder in Documents I see :
Eudora Settings
Eudora settings.bkup

The bkup version was saved by shut down last night....
The first one six minutes ago (don't know why)

I have the same thing. But on opening Eudora, it picks the wrong backup
file. I always
must go to the Documents folder and click on a backup, at which time it
tells me that
Eudora is transferring files and do I want to quit. When I click yes, I
get the correct
Eudora files.

Do you take the extention bkup away ? otherwise it makes bkup bkup

I think you need a settings file without extention to be used while
starting.
