Yes.
The little "RR" button at the top of a message composition window
switches on this feature for a message. RR stands for Return Receipt,
the original name of this email feature before it was subsumed into a
more generalized complex of "Delivery Status" and "Message Disposition"
notifications. For best results, it helps to turn on the sending of the
'obsolete' Return-Receipt-To header in Eudora's "Miscellaneous"
settings. Some mail clients require that header for their support.
Be aware that you cannot count on such notifications being sent just
because you request them. Some mail clients lack support for the
feature, some people configure their mail clients to silently ignore the
request for notification, and some mail transport and delivery systems
are configured to remove the request from some or all mail.

Thanks.

Indeed, and as I don't always remember to notify senders when I'm asked
to (and I never do if the message comes from an unknown sender), I
wouldn't expect other people to remember.
