Filters using Stationery Response

I've been searching through old newsgroup posts using Google and have
not seen anyone bring up the specific problem I'm having with setting up
a filter.

Also searched the web for this particular issue as well but have had no
luck.

I set up a filter that will check the "From" field and if it matches a
certain email address will respond with a particular piece of stationery.

I've tested it several times and what happens is, the email is sent and
a response with stationery is created but it sits in outbox as "queued".

I can then click on it and hit send, but so far I haven't resolved why
it won't auto-send it out.

I've checked the filter and personality and for the life of me do not
understand why it's not automatically being sent back out?

In the personality preference, the box IS checked that says "Send mail
whenever sends are done" for the personality set up for the auto-respond.

The "Incoming" is checked on the filter.

Been looking at it so long and it's probably something so simple that
I'm missing but at this time I'm really frustrated and perplexed.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe that's the behaviour you have specified?

Look in Settings->Sending Mail. If you have checked 'Send on check',
outgoing mails will be sent to the Outbox and queued, Checking
'Immediate send' would generate the behaviour you appear to want- but I
reckon that's kind of dangerous. I've always specified 'send on check'.
