Dang me but I can't recall the procedure (key and menu) for identifying which
filter kicked in when the filter(s) is out of sync. Can someone remind me?

Heh, heh! Select the message and hold down the shift key while you
select "Filters" from the Windows menu. (Of course, I didn't quite
trust my memory, so I just tested it and yes, it does work. )
