Does Eudora have a Save or Save As option that saves the message
externally without reformatting it? If so, you should be able to import
such a Saved message into whatever text or word processor you want.

I didn't know, so I just tried it and yes, it worked. Some formatting
wasn't preserved exactly (web page links), but most of it was.

I'm having less luck. Applying Select All and Copy to formatted text in
a Eudora message body, then pasting into an RTF-formatted TextEdit
document preserves color but not italics or bolding. Saving the Eudora
message saves only a plain text, not an RTF file.

Hold on! -- My default for screen font in Eudora is Geneva -- which has
no italics or bold versions -- although Eudora somehow manages to
display the italicized and bolded Geneva text as slanted and thickened
characters in its window quite nicely -- ???
So, if I change my default Eudora screen font to Helvetica (which does
have italics and bold fonts) all of this formatting does carry over
quite nicely (via Copy and Paste) into TextEdit.
[But, Helvetica doesn't look nearly as nice on screen in Eudora as does
Geneva . . .]

I used to like Mishawaka which was supplied with Eudora. It didn't seem to
work so well with OS X, so I have changed to Lucida Grande. This looks ok for
normal text, but things that rely on fixed width fonts are a problem....

I'm using Monaco. It's a nice, clear, fixed width font.
