Address Book

I'm having a tough time dealing with the Address Book in Eudora paid
on this MacBook Pro Intel.  Unbeknownst to me, the Palm synch program
Missing Synch was synching all my Treo addresses into Eudora.  Now I
have hundreds --- maybe a few thousand  --- entries in one of my
address books.  (Apparently, the default in Missing Synch is to do
such transfers. Ugh!!)

Some of them I want to keep, but mostly not.  Is there any way to do a
mass transfer?  Thus, if I select say 87 names displayed, can they all
be transferred in one operation.  Or, is it necessary to do this one
by one?

Is my only option to delete the whole book and start over?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, if you are very careful with your key clicks and mousing, you can
select the ones you want to move by holding down the command key as you
click on the addresses you want to move, and then drag-and-drop them
(still holding the command key) to a different address book.  (I say
that you should be careful, because personally, when I am selecting a
long list like that, I find it easy to slip and screw up.  I might do it
in batches as an interim solution).

Alternatively, you ought to be able to edit the address book files (cut
and paste between them) with any text editor.   I've never tried this
myself, though, so I can't vouch for it.

Either way, best to make a backup of everything in the Nicknames folder
before you begin.
