I had been using Eudora 6.2.1 for quite a while and wanted to add
another address for certain mail. I already have 2 other addresses that
had been working ok and then started having problems when I tried to add
the 3rd address. I backed all my old infor up and then updated to 6.2.4.
I could only access one of the address. I decided to trash it all, since
I had a backup of the settings for the 2 working?? files.

I did all the duplicating of setting and alias for the 2 new address in
6.2.4. My main one works but when I try to change the setting for the
other 2 mail boxes I get a error code 10660. I thought I was fairly
knowledgeable about Eudora?? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Nancy,

I'm having a bit of trouble following what you did here... can you
elaborate?

Do you mean, you wanted to add another personality?

What do you mean by "access"?  What were you able to do (and, more
importantly, what were you not able to do?

What exactly did you trash?

Two new addresses? (personalities?)  Or one?

What setting are you trying to change, and what are you trying to change
it to?  When you say "mail boxes" here, do you mean personalities?

It may be that your Settings file is corrupted.  You can rebuild the
Settings by holding down all the modifier keys
(command-option-shift-control) while you select Settings from the
Special menu.  This will retain your server info, but most of your other
customizations will be lost.  Before rebuilding the Settings, put a copy
somewhere outside the Eudora Folder so you can easily get it back if it
turns out the problem is not solved by rebuilding the Settings.

You can make it a little easier to restore your customizations if you
have Eudora create a list of them for you before you rebuild the
Settings.  Do this by opening a new message composition window and then
choose "Insert system configuration" from the Help menu.

THANK you Kathy. Excellent info. Now done for all the family, and I'll sleep
better tonight :)

Now all I have to do is discover what Mum's 701 error is and we will be able
to relax completely.
