Is there any method to DELETE items in the JUNK folder without first having
to move them to the TRASH to be deleted? I'm looking for a one step process
rather than the existing two stage.

I don't know. Setting the time to keep junk to 1 day gets rid of it
fairly unobtrusively if you turn off the warning - 0 days might work,
too, but I haven't tried that yet.

OK. But the Eudora Help file says this:

Shift + Option + Delete [Nuke]

Nuke the message: remove it permanently from your Macintosh without
first moving it to the Trash mailbox. Nuked messages cannot be
recovered!
