I am experiencing a very strange behavior: if someone sends me a
message with a blank subject, I get it with the subject of a definite
message revceived a few days ago.
Any idea?

I suspect a damaged table of contents.  Do you ever get a dialog box
offering to rebuild the TOC?  If so, say yes and it should fix the
problem.

Another possibility is that the mailbox file is slightly corrupted.
Since it is just a text file, you should be able to fix it with a text
editor (*not* a word processor) such as TextWrangler or BBEdit.  Work
with a _copy_ of the file (in case you make matters worse).  Open it
using the text editor, and also open a mailbox that doesn't display the
wrong behavior.  Compare the format of the two files, and add or delete
necessary text to the copy of the bad file so that the two have the same
formatting.  Now open the edited mailbox from Eudora (Mailbox |
Other...) to see if you've fixed it.  If you have, replace the bad
original with the repaired copy.

Many thanks.
I tried this but saw nothing special.
Then I noticed that the subject which was constantly reappearing
contained a stange character. I removed this character and then sent
myself several messages with a blank subject. They came with blank
subject!
So it's fixed, but I do not understand what happened.
Anyway, many thanks again for your help.

I don't understand either, but I'm glad it's fixed. :-)
