I am unable to collect my email using Eudora v6.2 although I can get via web
mail. The error is" -3212; {37:418}" which I understand to be an
authentication problem; see the following gleamed from Google...

{1}  [The 'Server Not Responding -3260 ' part of the error is a generic OS
networking error meaning the connection has gone away or the server has
failed to respond at all. The '{37:418}' part of the error means that the
problem was in line 418 of Eudora source code file 37. That line of code is
trying to open a TCP connection to a mail server.]

{2}  [I contacted our IT guy at FSU because I could not make a Port 25
connection. He told me it was not an issue with them but must likely one with

my ISP. He was right. SBC has instituted Port 25 filtering in an effort to
minimize spam. It must be unpopular because you can opt out of the filtering
right on the website - we'll see how long it takes to fix the problem. My IT
guy also said that you can fix the problem by editing the Eudora
configuration file and having it use the POP protocol to send as well as
receive mail. I chose to go with ISP route to fix the issue.]

[System- macintosh G4 Digital Audio; OSX 10.4.6; 1GHz; 896 Mb SDRAM]

Any help appreciated.

Problem solved: my firewall was blocking access to 217.12.12.124 which I
believe is the mail server. Once I twigged this, I deleted the rule and used
the same BTYahoo password and got connected.
