Strange behaviour of Eudora 6.2.x

Hello,

since I changed to Mac OS X (and to Eudora 6.2.x) I found some strange
behaviour of the program. I started using the "sponsored mode" but
Eudora told me once in a while not to be able to download the ads
although the connection to the Eudora server was obviously possible.
Some days later Eudora told me to change from sponsored mode to light,
but it was furthermore able to use different personalities while
checking my e-mails. After a while the Eudora settings file was
corrupted.

Then I started again with another settings file and wanted to use the
light mode but there seems to be no chance to manually swich to light
mode.

The download area of Eudora tells me that the sponsored mode ist not
available for the German language version of Eudora.

What does all that mean?

I'd prefer the sponsored mode as I'd like to be able to use different
accounts within one settings file. But if it's not possible, I want to
get rid of the ad-box at least.

How could I manage this?

Best regards

If the sponsored mode is not available for the German language version
of Eudora, I'd suggest using the English language version.  It is clear
from your post here that you speak English very well; I think the main
difference you are likely to see in the two versions is that buttons and
menu items would have English labels rather than German.  For someone
with your excellent English, I think this would not be a serious
problem.

When I mentioned this point I thaught of any technical or legal reason
for the restricted version. It's not that I could not handle the english
version as I in fact work with it.

Thanks to your answers. But the problem remains
