I need to transfer Eudors mail from one computer to another. Sometimes
from my Powerbook 3400c/8.6/Eudora light to my PM 7200/8.6/Eudora Light,
sometimes between Mac computers when I am upgrading to a 'new' computer.
Is there an easy way way to transfer individual e-mails or the complete
file between computers, preferably using zip disks?

It's all in the "Eudora Folder" probably in your "documents" folder.
Make a backup of everything on old hard drive first. (I don't foresee
problems; that is a generally good practice).

I've been going thru that Acrobat document (180 pages) but all I've
found under transfer is transferring stuff within Eudora on one
computer. Is there a different magic word I should search for relating
to transferring between computers? I know about putting stuff in a
'Transfer' mailbox, it is the exact details of swapping mailboxes I'm
looking for.

Andrew was saying "just copy the Eudora folder to your new computer".
Note that the Eudora folder is probably in your documents folder--it is
not the same as the "Eudora Application Folder" that contains the actual
application. Copy the whole Eudora folder onto a zip disk if you wish,
or a CD, or just connect the two computers over the network.
I use "Synchronize Pro" to automatically sync the Eudora folders on my
desktop and laptop over the network.

The simplest way I have found, for individual mails, is to do this:
In Eudora, on both machines, create a 'Transfer' mailbox.
On both machines, create a folder that has the same path (that has the
same name, on a drive of the same name) and make that your attachments
folder.
If the machines are networked, make aliases on each machine of the
following folders on the other machine- 'Eudora Folder:Mail', 'Eudora
Folder:Parts Folder' and the attachments folder. Put the passwords in
the Keychain.
That's all the hard work done and it needs doing only once.
When you want to transfer a mail, in Eudora, drag it to the 'Transfer'
mailbox on the originating machine. Open the 'Mail' folder and copy the
'Transfer' and if you're using .toc files, 'Transfer.toc' files from the
originating machine to the receiving machine's 'Mail' folder. It will
then be in the 'Transfer' mailbox on the receiving Eudora and you can
put it where you want. Clean up on the originating side. That's it- all
done, and when you have the aliases in one desktop folder, terribly easy
to do.
If there's an attachment(s) involved, copy it across from one
Attachments folder to the other. Be warned that if you want them to open
automagically from inside Eudora, you can't subsequently move the
attachments on the receiving machine.
If there are embedded images, copy them across between the 'Parts
Folders'.
This has worked for me with Eudora 3.1.3 Light in OS9 and Classic, and
Eudora 6.1.1 in 10.2.6, 10.3.9 and OS9.

On my version -- 4.3 (and all previous ones) --, each Eudora mailbox is
just a text file. simply copy the appropriate mailbox file from one
machine's Eudora mail folder to the other. As long as the mailbox
filenames don't collide, the new box will be there ready to use just
like all the other ones. (Don't copy your "In", or "Out" folders, for
that reason, but you can rename them and then copy them).
