That's really strange. Check in some other programs where colors are an
option. Do they appear normally in other programs? If they are strange
elsewhere, I'd suspect some kind of System problem. If colors are
normal in other programs but not in Eudora, I'd suspect a corrupted
Settings file. You can rebuild the Settings by holding down all the
modifier keys (command-option-shift-control) while you select Settings
from the Special menu. This will retain your server info, but most of
your other customizations will be lost. Before rebuilding the Settings,
put a copy somewhere outside the Eudora Folder so you can easily get it
back if it turns out the problem is not solved by rebuilding the
Settings.
You can make it a little easier to restore your customizations if you
have Eudora create a list of them for you before you rebuild the
Settings. Do this by opening a new message composition window and then
choose "Insert system configuration" from the Help menu.

Thanks a lot for kind reply.
Colors appear normally in other programs.
I rebuilt the settings with no effect.
Could it be that there is bug between Eudora and OSX 10.4?

I also have 10.4 and I'm not seeing it here, but I do have a slightly
older version of Eudora.
Anyone else have any ideas or data points?
Hopefully this evening I'll get time to upgrade and pay for the newer
version of Eudora and see if that causes a problem here.

Without being sure, I suspect it's the French plugin for Eudora that
causes the problem.
I wrote to J.P. Kuypers but didn't get a reply so far.
