Hi, I have a Hotmail Plus account that I use with Entourage 2008. For some unknown reason, over the last few days Entourage hasn't been able to sync to Hotmail. It just comes up with an error saying
"Error: Connection to the server failed or was dropped. Explanation: Could not retrieve mail. Account name: "Hotmail" Error: -3253"
Well, it's been very annoying since I haven't been able to use my account. Perhaps I should mention that I have a hotmail.co.uk account - not a hotmail.com account. Well anyway, I have never been able to access Hotmail using Safari but I've always been able to access it using Firefox for mac. But over the last few days I haven't even been able to use firefox. So I've had to use my old windows XP PC with IE.7
The only reason I subscribe to Hotmail Plus is so that I can use it with Entourage. I don't use Entourage for any other e-mail accounts, so I'm not sure if the problem is with entourage or hotmail, but I'd guess hotmail since I can't access that from firefox now either. Can you help?

Sounds like you should be talking to Microsoft, not this newsgroup, which is
a collection of user peers. Although MS staff do occasionally drop in, their
participation is infrequent and hard to predict.

Does Hotmail's web page (which you are accessing via IE7) have a Help or
Contact Us link?

You can now download free account into Entourage.

Error -3253

"Communication to server failed or was dropped. Mail could not be sent.
Error -3253"

One user reported: The sent mail folder was too large. Moved 18 months of
e-mails and their attachments to a new folder and it worked like a champ.
