Why does search not find messages in the inbox using From field?

The "From" email address is vpntracker@equinux.com. Select the Inbox in the left pane. In the Search box (upper-right corner), after selecting "From", and either "Starts with" or "Contains", start entering "v", then "p", then "n", and the list is populated with matching emails. Add "t" and the list goes blank (none found). Why is that?

I never bother selecting anything. The default contains works for me. I just
did it for this newsgroup. Typed in DFClark and up popped your message.

In case you didn't know the Mactopia forum is an interface to the Entourage
newsgroup.

If you use a newsreader rather than the Mactopia interface to this newsgroup
you can download old messages and search for answers.  If you are not
familiar with a newsreader, Entourage's basic newsreader already has the
Microsoft News server included. All you do is subscribe to the newsgroups
you want. See this article for help subscribing using the Entourage
newsreader:

Hope this helps!
