Processor: Intel

I am trying to set-up my wife's hotmail account on Entourage but every time I try I get this error code:

Error
HTTP error. Access to the resource is forbidden.

Explanation
The Windows Live Hotmail folder list could not be received.
Account name: "hotmail"

Error: -18597

This only occurs when I try to set-up my wife's account. I also have a hotmail account and have no problem setting up my account through Entourage.

I am able to successfully go through every step to set-up her account but this error message occurs once the send/receive process is initiated.

This makes absolutely no sense to me.

Is your wife's account a free account or a paid account? Hotmail no longer
supports access from Entourage for free accounts, although I believe that
when they introduced this policy, they did grandfather in accounts that had
already been set up for Entourage access.

How to obtain a new Hotmail account to use with Entourage
You can no longer use Entourage to access your free Hotmail accounts. To
obtain access to your accounts from Entourage, you have to purchase a
subscription service, such as MSN Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium. For more
information about these subscription services, visit the following Microsoft
Web site:

This is probably because the e-mail address you typed in the account dialog
does not exactly match the one the server expects. Since the addresses don't
match, it doesn't allow you to send.

You might try editing your account info online. Perhaps it is corrupted.

Thanks for the response and I have heard that explanation before. However, my account is also a free account and works fine in Entourage.

I created my hotmail account in Dec '99 and my wife created hers in Feb '00.

There are reported issues with Microsoft servers being down for the web
site. It's possible this is affecting Hotmail accounts. With the holidays,
it might take longer than usual to get them running again.
