Sounds stopped working Entourage 2004 Intel iMac

After installing the most recent security update for OSX, Entourage
notification sounds stopped working no matter what I do to the
preference settings. Even clicking on the speaker icon produces no test
sound.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Stephen!

Have a look at this article on Apple's website
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300832>. An application
may have set your audio output settings too high.

Sounds stopped working Entourage 2004 Intel iMac
