i've been thinking about using parallels software for running windows
in a OSX and using that to run outlook for windows. seems the reviews
have been good and i'm wondering if anyone else has had experience in
that.

thanks

We tried it, but neglected to add MacDrive to the mix, so the end user
could not attach or detach.  I would like to try it again with
MacDrive, since we have having endless problems with Entourage.

I haven't stressed the environment much, but had great success with the
basics connecting to Exchange server 2003 using Outlook 2003 under
Parallels. Before my Parallels temp license expired (I have requested
my organization purchase a copy) I was able to read and send mail with
no problems.

One issue which I had was our requirement that we access our mail
server locally, so I required a VPN connection. I didn't have much luck
using an existing Mac VPN connection with a Parallels Windows session
and seemed to need to start with no Mac VPN and create a Parallels
Windows VPN connection. This is inconvenient if you need the VPN on the
Mac side as well, but maybe I'm missing something in the configuration.

I am very haqppy with parallels

using to run a genealogy database

The only problem i had was caused by an old WinXP  Pro install cd  from
2002 with 50 downloads to do from Windows update

to get to SP1
it got zapped by spyware
So using  an OEM cd   there were no problems

seee blogs for the setup with two screens

For some good help on installation and setup, get "Take Control of Running
Windows on a Mac" by Joe Kissel, e-book for $10 from tidbits.com.
