I have an email account from which I only want to retrieve email only periodically - in other words I don't want to do it on the regular 10-minute cycle I have set in Entourage. What is the best way to do that? Right now, I have to open TOOLS : Accounts, select the account, enable the include checkbox, send/receive, disable the checkbox, and close the panel. Make sure to remove that account from the Send and Receive All schedule. LOL - while looking around for how to do this, I discovered that under Send & Receive, I can explicitly select this special account. That would do the same, right? Using the Tools > Send and Receive, you can select one account to read from. However, you must still remove it from the list of accounts in the Send and Receive All schedule or it will still read ever 10 minutes (or whatever interval you set for that schedule). Also, using Tools > Send and Receive, you will only read that special account when you select it manually. You had said you wanted to read that account periodically, just not every 10 minutes. To do that, you need to set up a special schedule for that one account, say, to read it once a day. Hmm - this is not what I am seeing. I have 4 accounts. Three of them are set to synch email every 10 minutes. The fourth is set to not be a part of this schedule and is the periodic account I was mentioning. At any time, when I select that account specifically from the Send & Receive menu option, I can download from it, but that doesn't change the basic setting to not include this account in the normal send/receive schedule. I don't see any difference between what I said and what you are saying. In the Send & Receive All schedule, you can list all 3 of your accounts that you want read every 10 minutes. Just make sure the 4th account is not there (or it will be read, too). Now you can read the 4th account in one of two ways: 1) Manually, by selecting it in the list of Tools > Send & Receive 2) By creating a schedule (Tools > Schedules > New) to read only this 4th account, say, once a day It's just a matter of whether you want to read the 4th account automatically and periodically or just when you feel like it manually. > Hmm - this is not what I am seeing. > [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > > Or am I missing something (like that's never happened before)? 8) ...... >> Not quite. If account 4 is not part of the S&RA schedule, selecting that item from the drop down will only trigger a one time mail collection, and will not add it to (or take it from) any schedules.
