I take it that the full version does. But does it use Sun's java compiler or
can one switch between compilers? This is a question I have about C++ as
well. Can I switch from Metrowerks to GCC? And any chance at getting an
earlier learning version to test out the java tools?

CodeWarrior no longer supports Java. I believe Metrowerks gave up on
Java some time ago.

I don't believe you can use GCC from within CodeWarrior.

This is a question for someone like Ron to answer, but I think you're
better off with Xcode, which does Java and allows the use of alternative
C and C++ compilers. With a little work (PyObjC) you can use Python too.

CodeWarrior 9 and newer and Learning Edition does NOT support Java

We do not use the GCC but there are people that can make gcc compiler
plugins for CodeWarrior. Not for the Learning Edition though.

Not from Metrowerks. There may be some LE's around in book stores and
such
