Hello. I've searched and can't find any help with this bug. I'm
using OS X 10.2.6 on a PB Titanium and recently upgraded from CW Pro 7
to CW Pro 8. When I enable the debugger and bring it up it crashes
CW. I thought it might be my app (although it crashes even before
executing) but I made a new C Carbon project from the stationary and
it crashes as well. As soon as I press the Debug/Run button and the
debugging "screens" start appearing CW crashes. Can anyone help?
Thank you. -- Jeff

Sounds like you don't have the correct version of Apple's Developer
tools installed. Many OS X machines shipped with an installer for them
in the Installers folder. If you don't have an appropriate version
there, you'll need to download the developer tools installer from
Apple's developer web site. Yes, Metrowerks requires Apple's tools to
debug on OS X.

This is mentioned in the release notes but not in deep detail.
In order to debug or rebuild libraries on OS X you also need to go to
the Apple Developers Connection
http://www.apple.com/developer/
or
http://connect.apple.com
and download either the
April 2002 Developers Tools for OS X 10.1.x
or
December 2002 Developers tools for OS X 10.2.x
The versions of gdb that came with OS X CD's have a bug that prevents
them from working with CodeWarrior.
If you are not a member of the Apple Developers Connection you must
register to download the software. This is a free process and is
probably something you should do if you are developing on a Mac in any
way.
I would strongly recommend downloading the December 2002 release of the
Mac OS X Developer Tools.
You need a free ADC Online Membership to login and download software,
there's a button on that page which will allow you to sign up for one
if you have not already done so. Once you login, click on the *Download
Software* link on the left hand side of the page, then click on the
*Developer Tools* sublink.
By the way, I would suggest you upgrade to 8.2 then 8.3 and rebuild
libraries after installing these tools too.
