It's not known at this point what will be used. But so far, customer
suggestions have indicated that the BSD license is most acceptable. The
decision-makers know this, so hopefully that will be what is eventually
used. But still, the decision isn't made yet, and it could very well be
some other license may be chosen. It's too early to tell.

We had the request to adapt the BSD style. I don't know much about this
open source license models but it seemed to get a good round of
apploause at MacHack.

BSD is the "you can do absolutely anything with this except sue us about it"
model.

And I suppose another good question are you planning on modifying the
CW 9 license or making license changes only for CW 10 users?

I don't think we planned to change the version 9 license. What exactly
do you have in mind here?

I believe the current EULA does not permit us to use PP source code and
compile it with gcc. There is a separate thread regarding this:

Part of the ongoing discussion was that PP may be open sourced or the
EULA changed to allow us to use PP and gcc so we get to a Universal
Binary GUI based upon PP.
Sounds like the Open Source approach for PP is being seriously looked
at. If this happens, what version(s) of PP can we expect to be Open
Sourced?
Can we expect the license for CW 9.x to be modified so PP is Open
Source or should we expect CW 10 to have PP Open Source?

I don't think a decision has been made about that yet. I think that PP
will be open sourced and you will be able to build apps with it using CW
or Xcode or whatever else you want to use. Even if this just applies to
Pro 10, it has already been announced that version 10 will most likely
be sold at a much cheaper price point than Pro 9.
