Hi,

Can anyone who has "CodeWarrior 9 Development Studio for Mac OS, OS
X/Windows targets" tell me if it will also create OS9 (Classic) programs?
This is the edition that goes for about $450.

Then there's also the edition for about $670, "CodeWarrior 9 Development
Tools for Mac OS and Windows", but I'm interested in the cheaper one - if it
is able to create "Classic" programs (because its title only specifies "OSX"
and "Windows", but not "Classic" or "OS9".

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: Yes, I know it's currently unavailable, but I might be able to buy one
from someone.

The version the company I worked for a couple months ago purchased a
version that did Windows, Mac Classic & Mac OS X, but I remember it
retailing something like $750.  I was under the impression that this
was the only Mac/Windows offering they had (although I could be wrong).

Of course you can look for copies sold by other people, but make sure
they include their license.dat files.  The way CW 9 worked is that
after you install, you had to enter a number into the Metrowerks web
site and it would give you a registration number you can key in to
activate CodeWarrior.  I doubt that the Metrowerks web site generates
these numbers anymore, so you would have to use an already created
license.dat file.  That is probably not a problem if you buy it from
someone who has already installed it and got their license.dat file,
but i would be concerned if you buy it somewhere that was still
shrinkwrapped, so no full registration number is available to you.

Maybe MWRon can fill in whether Metrowerks Support will still be able
to grant license numbers.

Thanks for the tip. I believe I might be able to get a brand new copy.

Still, I need to know if the OSX-only edition of CodeWarrion 9 allows
creating OS9 (Classic) programs. Does anyone know for sure? Anyone has that
edition?

Thanks in advance,
Eugenio Andres.

I have CW 9 in the OS X-only version, and I can create applications
that will run in Classic mode.  You want to start with the Carbon
stationery; I use "Carbon Bundle", then "Appearance."

That doesn't do classic,

Send me a note to mwron@metrowerks.com and I'll add classic to your license for you.
