If a person has purchased from Metrowerks a copy of some CodeWarrior
product Version N, can they legally run (a perhaps no longer sold)
Version N-1 of the same product on the same system, assuming they can
somehow get access to a copy?

The question is of interest with respect CodeWarrior for PalmOS Version 8
for Mac OS, which no longer seems to be available from Metrowerks (but
Version 9 is, though it runs slower under Virtual PC).

If you write me with the conditions I'll most likely get this authorized.

If you are a registered version of CodeWarrior for Palm 9 write me and
I'll see if we have a CW 8 version we can send you.

I already have purchased/registered copies of not only both 8 and
9, but most Palm and PalmOS versions all the way back to 1.0 from '96.
(And many CodeWarrior for Mac versions all the way back to DR1,
purchased at MacWorld in '94.)

My question was mostly related to inquiries in the palmpilot newsgroup
and mailing lists about what a new PalmOS developer should use if they
prefer to develop on the MacOS platform.  If the CWPalmOSv8 tools are
still available for use on a Mac (if only indirectly by purchasing v9),
Metrowerks should let it be known.  Currently the other supported
alternative IDE, PODS from PalmSource, only runs under Windows XP.

This is basically a non official policy, that we just do  if we have the
CD's  If we made it official and ran out of CD's someone might be upset.
