Hi,

I'm working on a project with multiple targets and several dependencies. A
few days go, I noticed that CW ALWAYS relinks my target even when there has
been strictly no change to the code.

I thought this was caused by a minor date issue, however even when
rebuilding all targets and dependencies, the problem stays.

Is there a way to find out which file is causing the problem ?

What's the post-linker set to in that target?

It's fixed with CW update. Since I received my CD only a few weeks ago, I
didn't have the idea to download an update that is older than the cds :-)

Thanks for the help anyway.

In my experience MW only creates one set of CDs, which they use for
the life of the product. When I upgraded from CW 7 to 8.3, I had to
use the CD they sent me to install 8.0, then download two large
updaters, run them in sequence, and then rebuild libraries. Didn't
seem like a professional way to distribute software.

The last Win XP CD I got did still require a download of SP2. Maybe
you should for once think before complaining ... production changes
are not cheap and certainly not instant for any company. Throwing away
unsold copies and recalling all distributed copies would seriously
increase the cost for any company doing so. And guess who pays the
bill in the end!!!

I posted about a similar problem here:

subject: Project must re-link after opening

Since my application projects always re-link the first time they are
built after opening them it does not seem to be a problem with any
particular file.
