partitioning question

Hello,

I have a 1Ghz G4 Quicksilver I am preparing to partition for Leopard.
It has a 74.5 gig hard drive, with 896 meg of ram.  I am planning on
partitioning for 10.4/9.2 for one half of the partition, the other for
Leopard.   Mainly I am using the 10.4 partition for a few Classic
games/apps.

Question: what is the minimum space I can give to 10.4/Classic.
Obviously, I want to give the bulk of storage to Leopard.  Was
thinking 60 gig or more.  Thanks in advance for any help!

You'd be better off getting a newer computer. Leopard will be sluggish
on that one.

I'm not sure about the that.  It's still a good machine and I could
always max out the ram to 1.5 GB and, I think the processor can be
upgraded to 1.8 Ghz.  This would run about $400 or less,
approximately, as opposed to about $1100 for the lowest end new intel
Mac, witht the possible exception of a mini.

The requirements for Leopard don't look that much bigger than Tiger,
which runs smooth and lightning fast.  I'll mainly be using Leopard
for a few old Classic programs, so I want to give the lion's share of
the partition to Leopard.

Leopard does not support Classic. And a G4 at any speed/RAM combo will
be sluggish.

Belatedly....

{snip} Leopard does not support Classic. And a G4 at any speed/RAM
combo will be sluggish.

Not to be rude, but....   What are you basing this on?  What makes you
think that processor and ram upgrade won't make an OS run faster?  I
am already convinced it will run quite smoothly.  I am well within the
system requirements.

Hmmm...   Perhaps you haven't seen these?:

My machine is somewhere in between.  Certainly it will out perform the
733MHz/512 Ram G4 Powermac shown in the first video.  Apparently you
can cheat your way around the 867MHz minimum requirement.   It seems
to be running reasonably well on the Powermac (a little slow, but
considering the system's lack of power and ram...) and just fine thank
you on the Powerbook.

AGAIN, I am well aware that Leopard is not supported, thus my question
on PARTITIONING.  If you don't know the answer to the actual question
at hand, perhaps you shouldn't post a response.

I don't care about what you've seen on YouTube. I have real world,
every day experience.

Do whatever you want. Just don't bitch to me/us when it performs
poorly and you discover that you have no Classic.

I can hardly believe it...
The original poster has said in almost every of his post that he will
use Classic on on the Tiger partition! The Leopard one is known to him
to not support Classic.
But it seems you keep saying he won't have Classic anymore (which isn't
true, if he boots on Tiger).

As for the performances... I can't say for sure. Real world experiences
against videos... I'd think the first one is the most reliable.
