I have 4 Macs on a primarily PC network using PC Maclan - an iMac running OS9.1.5, an older Mac Power PC running OS 8.5 and recently, because of problems with the older Mac ,which was originall purcahsed to drive an imageseter only, purchased an iMac with OSX 1.5 preinstalled. I am primarily a CD person, and am not that famililiar with the Mac OS My problems and questions are: the new iMac does'nt seem to th have 9,1 installed, how do I migrate my legacya apps to the new Mac? How do I migrate OS 9.1.5 to the new Mac, if possible? The company I purchased the newr Mac from is the only one who has shared files and a dropbox. Even though I have set up an administrator acccount in my name, changed the name of the computer, and deleted ther former adminustrator, he is still there as the owner. The company I purchased the computer from made a point of the fact that the OS X disk wa not included. Have I wasted my money, other than having a bacjup of my cltint files? Any syggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I don't know what you mean by "OSX 1.5". Please check the exact system
version and Macintosh model in "About This Mac" under the Apple menu. If
the iMac has an Intel Core2 processor, rather than a PPC (G3, G4, or
G5), it will be incapable of running any Mac OS earlier than v10.x --
even in "Classic" mode, let alone being able to boot that way. "Tiger"
(v10.4.x) is the last Mac OS for any model that will support a Classic
installation, which I believe has to be v9.2.x -- you can download a
free updater to get there from v9.1.x.

It's a very bad idea to buy any Mac without the original installation
disks unless you already have an equivalent set. You may have to get a
generic retail OS version in order to properly configure and maintain
the system.
